Repeat & Retarget Broadcasts

Resend a past broadcast or send a follow-up to a specific slice of your original audience — based on how they engaged with your message.

What are they?

Repeat Broadcast lets you resend a previous broadcast with all its settings already filled in. It's a quick way to reuse a campaign without starting from scratch.

Retarget Broadcast lets you send a follow-up to a specific slice of your original audience — based on how they engaged (or didn't engage) with your message. Use it to nudge people who didn't respond, or to reward those who did.

Both options are available from your Broadcast History.

Repeat Broadcast

When to use it

  • You want to resend the same campaign to a fresh audience.

  • You run a recurring promotion and want to reuse a proven setup.

  • You want to use a past broadcast as a starting point for a new one.

How to use it

  1. Go to BroadcastHistory.

  2. Find the broadcast you want to repeat.

  3. Click the (more actions) menu on that row.

  4. Click Repeat Broadcast.

  5. The Create Broadcast form opens with all settings prefilled — template, audience, schedule, and more.

  6. Review and edit any settings you want to change.

  7. Click Send or Schedule.

The repeated broadcast is completely independent. Changes to it won't affect the original.

Retarget Broadcast

When to use it

  • You want to follow up with contacts who didn't open or reply to your message.

  • You want to re-engage contacts whose messages failed to deliver.

  • You want to send a different message to people who clicked or replied.

How to use it

  1. Go to BroadcastHistory.

  2. Find the broadcast you want to retarget.

  3. Click the (more actions) menu on that row.

  4. Click Retarget Broadcast.

  5. Read the confirmation screen and click Proceed.

  6. In the Audience step, choose which contacts to include using the retarget filter (see filter options below).

  7. Optionally, add a reply content filter to narrow down further.

  8. Complete the rest of the broadcast setup.

  9. Click Send or Schedule.

Retarget filter options

Choose contacts based on their status from the original broadcast:

Filter
Who it targets

Sent

Message was sent but hasn't been delivered yet

Delivered

Message was delivered but not opened

Read

Message was opened but no reply was sent

Replied

Contacts who sent a reply

Clicked

Contacts who clicked a button or link

Failed

Message failed to deliver

Delivered, not replied

Message was delivered but no reply came

Replied via flow

Contacts who replied through an automated flow

Optional: filter by reply content

If you selected Replied or Replied via flow, you can narrow down further by what the contact said:

  • Contains — include contacts whose reply includes a specific word or phrase

  • Does not contain — exclude contacts whose reply includes a specific word or phrase

Tips & Best Practices

Wait at least 6 hours before retargeting. Delivery and read statuses take time to update. Scheduling your retarget broadcast 6+ hours after the original gives you a more accurate audience.

Combine filters for precision. Use reply content filters to separate curious contacts ("Tell me more") from uninterested ones, and tailor your follow-up accordingly.

Retarget failed deliveries separately. Send a different message or use a different template for contacts whose delivery failed — the issue may be on their end.

Repeat ≠ Retarget. Use Repeat when you want to run the same campaign again. Use Retarget when you want to follow up with specific people from the original send.

FAQ

Q: Does Repeat Broadcast send to the same contacts again? It prefills the same audience settings, but you can change them before sending. The new broadcast is independent — it won't deduplicate against the original automatically.

Q: Can I retarget a broadcast more than once? Yes. You can retarget the same broadcast multiple times, using different filters each time.

Q: Why can't I see all my contacts in the retarget audience? The retarget audience is limited to contacts from the original broadcast who match your chosen filter. If a contact isn't in that group, they won't appear.

Q: Will the retarget broadcast use the same template? No — you choose the template fresh when setting up the retarget broadcast. Only the audience is pre-filtered based on the original.
